Day 01 Delhi or Mumbai – Raipur
Arrival at Raipur In the Morning. Transfer to hotel at Raipur. Excursion to Sirpur Buddhist Excavated site. Sirpur in Chhattisgarh is famous for the 1300 years old built in 6th Century AD first temple in India to be built with bricks- the Laxman Mandir. It also is home to several other structures of great archaeological importance. With the recent discovery of a Haritika statue in Sirpur and a temple complex, said to be much bigger than the Nalanda site in Bihar, has just added to the charm of visiting Sirpur.

Anand Prabhu Kudi Vihar is One of the most famous Buddha Vihars in Sirpur is the Anand Prabhu Kudi Vihar. The Vihar had 14 rooms and at the main entrance adored the Dwarapal carved in stone pillars on either side. A six feet tall statue of Buddha touching the earth is installed inside the Vihar.

Swastika Vihar, Situated very close to Anand Prabhu Kudi Vihar, the Swastika Vihar is supposed to have been used as a meditation and study center for the Buddhist Bhikshus.

Day 02 Raipur – Bhoramdeo 150kms/3hrs drive
Must Be a Wednesday to match all the Weekly markets of the Tribes. Drive to Bhoramdev. Afternoon visit of Bhoramdev temple.
Overnight at Bhoramdev Jungle Retreat.
 
Day 03 Bhoramdeo
Morning visit of the Bhaiga village. Afternoon visit the weekly market at Chilpi. This Group lives in the area around Kawardha closer to the border of Kanha National Park. The women of this group tatoos their Legs completely & partly their Hands. This group's life style is very similar to the other Sub Groups of Gond. Huge Rings are used by the women as well as coin neck beads are the favorite of this group.

Day 04 Bhoramdeo – Raipur 150kms/3hrs drive

Visit the Villages of Gond Tribe around & afternoon visit of One of the Weekly market to watch the trading of Tribal with the public from local areas. The Name derivers from Telugu word Konda, means Hill. This is a Nomadic Tribe. This is one group who believes in Hindu Religion & they have different sub divisions in the group. They have the Ghotul System where the men & women live separately in this Dormitory called Ghotul. Once the marriage is decided, they go out of Ghotul & start their life in the village with other Elder members. This society accepts, Remarriage, Widow marriage & divorce. In this society like other Tribal Groups, they pay a heavy price for the Bride as a respect to women power in the family.

Day 05 Raipur – Jagdalpur. 350kms/5hrs drive
Drive to Jagdalpur on the way visiting Maria & Muria Tribal villages & Weekly Market of Benur attended by the Abhujmar Hill Tribal Group.

This is another Sub Group live in Abhujmar Hills & completely in deep Forest area & far from the Accessible motor able roads of Naryanpur. This group is Semi Nomadic & due to their isolated living, they still practice their Old Rituals & Practices without having any influence of the outside world. They believe in saving Tigers from the Poachers. They love to eat Roasted Meat of the Hunted animals. They live with cultivation, hunting & gathering Jungle Product.

Day 06 Jagdalpur
Morning visit of Kanger Valley National Park & Dhuruba village. Weekly Market at Jagdalpur. Afternoon visit of Chitrakoot Water Falls.

This is among the major Tribes of Bastar District. They live their life with the help of earning from Bamboo work, Cultivation & like other tribes, they also collect Jungle Products. They were once upon a time depending upon the Slash & Burn Cultivation. But now a days with the help of the Govt. they are working on Terraced Cultivation. The women & men of this society, recognize each other with the design of their Comb they fix on their hair. During the meeting & greeting Dhuruba people exchange the Comb among each other as a respect to their relation & friendship. The women sari decoration is very interesting as well as their hair decoration. This group is spread in Orissa & Chhatishgarh.

Day 07 Jagdalpur – Rayagada 300kms/6hrs
Drive to Jhigidi Village on the way visiting Kotpad weaving village & Kakiriguma Weekly Market of the Paraja People.
Paraja is derived from Praja which means the Inhabitants under the control of a King of the people of the country/villages. These people are very colorful by their costume & hard working. They work on the fields, roads & grow varieties of vegetables & sell them in the market & live a good life compare to the other Tribes of Orissa. They still practice a strong Social Rituals & worship their Ancestral Gods & Goddess as well as the Nature.

Day 08 Kutia Kondh Market & Villages
Visit of Kutia Kondh market & villages in Tumudibandh block.

Excursion to the Tattoo Faced Kutia Kondh villages in Kotgarh & Tumudibandh area. This day excursion will introduce you to the Kutia Kondh of Phulbani District believe in making Tattoos on the face of women depending upon which clan they belong to. So that they can be recognized by their dead ancestors. Kutia Kondh is one of the Primitive Groups of Kondh society live in Phulbani & Kondhamal District. The name derives from the word KUTIA. Kutia means Thatch Roof Houses looks like a whole as per Local language. Kutia means the people who makes the Tattoos on the Body & the technique of making Tattoos is called KUT locally. The women makes these tattoos of Floral & Geometrical style depending upon the clan they belong to. The belief of making these tattoos to be recognized by their men in the society, which still survives after death.

Day 09 Rayagada – Chaitkona – Rayagada - Similiguda Dongariya Kondh Market Paraja Villages 200kms/3hrs drive

Visit of Dongariya Kondh Weekly market and later on drive to Similiguda or Jeypore.

Dongariya Kondh is another group living in the Niyamagiri Hill Range of Kondhmala District. Once upon a time this group was known for the Maria Sacrifice. For the Good Crops, they were sacrificing Human being which was stopped before independence by the British Govt.. The men & women of this society decorate themselves in the same way & only difference of the jewelleries is the Nose ring, which are Two in Numbers with the Boys & Three for Girls. The Name Dongariya derives from the Local name of Dongar means Hill slope. This group live on the Hill slope as well as cultivate these slopes & produce varieties of Fruites & Vegetables as well as herbs used for the Medicine.

Day 10 Bonda Market 80kms/2.30hrs drive
Visit of Bonda, Gadhaba & Didayee Weekly market(only on Thursday).

After an Early Morning Breakfast we leave for the Visit to the Weekly market of Groups called Bonda, Gadhaba & Didayee people. Bondas, literally meaning the people of the Hills, prefer to live in isolation with their interesting characteristics & practices still prevailing in their society. The most elegant Tribal women in Orissa & nearby states, Bonda Group women have their special identity with their costume of colorful beads as their dress and the head gear.

Day 11 Paraja Market & Village Visit - Jeypore. 60kms/2hrs drive
Visit of Paraja Weekly market & their villages.

Day 12 Jeypore - Dhuruba Village & Market – Jeypore 250kms/5hrs drive
Visit of Dhuruba weekly market.

Dhuruba or Dhuruas are the Nomadic Group of Bastar Region who have now settled on the Bank of Sabari River dividing Odisha & Chhatishgarh as a Border line. This Group was using the Slash & Burn System of Cultivation causing Terrible Effects on the Jungle areas of Odisha & Bastar. Odisha Govt. has now provided them the Fixed Land for Cultivation & Villages to stop their Way of Cultivation & teaching them for Terraced Cultivation along with Horticulture. This Group is Expert on Bamboo Making Items. The Men & Women use a very typical way of cloth. Their Villages are in both style i.e. Scattered way & In a Row. They are very peace loving people & live together with other group in Harmony

Day 13 Jeypore – Vishakhapatnam
Drive to Vishakhapatnam. Check into the hotel. Afternoon visit the Simanchalam Temple. Simanchalam Temple is built in the border of Odisha & Vishakhapatnam. The Name of this Temple is derived from the God Installed here is one of the Incarnations of Vishnu called Nrishimha & being the abode of this Incarnation, the Hill is known as Simanchalam. This is a Nice temple of 8th Century AD Built by One of the Odiya Kings which is proved from the Architecture of this Temple. Half of the Temple from the Ground is with all the Characters of Odishi Temples & Top of the Temple is built in the style of South Indian Architecture called Gopuram. Walk on the Crowded Beach of Vizag enjoying the Locals of Andhra Pradesh.
